The Coldest Stone – Live In Studio – NPR Tiny Desk Contest

Nathan, Katie and I have been rehearsing some stripped-down, versions of my songs. It’s been fun to reinvent some of the arrangements, this is our take on a song I wrote called “The Coldest Stone”, featuring Nate playing the Stroh Violin.

Instrument Tidbit

The Stroh violin or Stroviol is a type of stringed musical instrument that is mechanically amplified by a metal resonator and horn attached to its body. John Matthias Augustus Stroh, an electrical engineer in London, invented the instrument in 1899. Learn more about the Stroh violin.
